Where Is The EPCOT Ball?

Listening: This whole damn world can fall apart. You'll be ok. Follow your heart. You're in harms way. I'm right behind. Now say you're mine.

So I arrive on he night train fom Frankfurt to Prague and got in t half pasteight in the morning. It took me forever to figure out how to use the metro. By the time I got to Miss Sophie´s it was about ten o´clock. I was tired as hell and got almsot no sleep on the train. My bck was killing me and I was just ehausted.

I think that the most amazing thing about the train ride was that I shared a couchette cbin with three Feb Fresh from Colby. One was a sister of a girl I crushed on. Itś good to know that the family has good genes altogether. It was a crazy coincidence. It was the first one of the trip, but not the last.

Exhauseted and needing a nap, I walked around Prague.I couln get into my room beforetwo in the afternoon, so I really hadno other choice than to walk around. This jet lag is KILLING me. I got lost several times in Nove Mesto (The New Town), before finding my way to Stare Mesto (The Old Town).

I think that the theme of my trip so far is "construction." Amsterdam was under heavy construction while I was there. Canals were being rebuilt. The fascade of the Rijksmuseum was under construction. The whole front of Centraal Station was being re-vamped. Now, when I get to Prague, the Astronomical clock is under construction until the middle of next month. Itś like I can´t It´s horrible.

All in all, Prague seems like a fairy tale. There are a lot of old buildings and they´re all built pretty close together. It seems almost clasurohobic too. There are little courtyards that will have few shops each. It´s like being at a pavillion in World Showcasein Epcot, but never seeing the Seven Seas Lagoon. It is quite amazing.

I got lost several times walking around Prague. If I thought I kept getting lost in Amsterdam, Prague is another level. It seems as if north is south and east is west. I have never lost my bearings so quickly in a city. Hopefully tomorrow morning I´ll have it all straightened out. Tomorrow I go to the castle and I see the Charles Bridge in daylight.

Around two o´clock,I returned to Miss Sophie´s and got into my room. I wanted t take a nap for an hour, but one hour turned into four. Damn the jet lag. So at a little past six, I went out for more exploration.

I walked around for quite some timebefore deciding to head back. However, on the way back, I saw a sign for the Boston vs. Chicago game, so I decided to investigate. Low and behold, the game was on. I caught it one out into the first inning and stayed until the game was over. At first, I was hanging out with an Italian man who had spent the last few years in Chicago. We were clearly roting against each other. When it got to b 12 to 2, he left, and I walked downstairs in the bar to find a whole hoarde of Sox (Red) fans. It was awesome. The there were ome Chicago fans as well and some Yankees ones too, but the majority were Red Sox fans. I think I will be going back there tomorow night to catch game two.

For now, I am tired and full of beer. Tomorrow, I tackle the castle. Tomorrow, hoprefully I won need a map or a nap.

Great blog - I'm enjoying reading your adventures as an escape from the monotony of my life in this damn cubicle ;) That's great you found a bar to watch the game, but what a crappy one to see! Hopefully tonight will go better. Take care! :)

Woot! Red Sox! I love reading your blog - so wish I was there! How ironic that you ran into Colby people on the way to Prague. :-D

If you haven't been to Prague Castle yet, try to save room for the lunch special at the little cafe in Golden Alley (? where the shops are)... soup, meat, dessert. All tasty! :) Kate
